Dr. Kenice Broughman
D.C., D.H.Sc, D.A.C.B.N., C.F.M.P.
Chiropractic, Functional Medicine
Dr. Broughman has been practicing functional and holistic medicine as an integral part of her chiropractic practice for over 30 years. This includes finding and treating the root cause of her patient’s health concerns, not just treating the symptoms. She knows that a patient-centered approach to treatment—one that educates and empowers individuals—consistently leads to the best health outcomes. A comprehensive history and physical examination, supported by blood work and specialized laboratory testing, can reveal the underlying contributors to many health conditions. After results are obtained, personalized and sustainable treatments that address the root causes can be developed, helping patients achieve lasting wellness. She believes the future of healthcare lies in whole-person, highly personalized care that integrates natural therapies with allopathic, or traditional, medical approaches., when necessary. Her philosophy emphasizes evidence-informed, patient-centered care that helps individuals uncover the root causes of their health concerns and address them through diet, lifestyle, and targeted supplementation, whenever possible. Ultimately, she maintains that prevention is the most powerful form of medicine and that there has never been a better time to support patients in achieving their highest level of health. Dr. Broughman graduated in 1986 from the National University of Health Sciences as a Doctor of Chiropractic. She practiced in multiple clinics across Illinois and Florida, integrating functional medicine and holistic care as key components of her chiropractic approach.
In 2005 she joined the faculty at Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida campus. While there, she was a clinic mentor and a classroom teacher, published and presented many academic papers, and participated in leadership positions in chiropractic professional organizations. During her time at Palmer, Dr. Broughman continued to enhance her expertise by becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Nutrition. She also earned a Doctorate in Health Sciences from Nova University. She continued to integrate the principles of functional and holistic medicine with patients and in classrooms. She attained the rank of Professor and was honored to be named Professor Emeritus at her “repurposement” in 2023.
After leaving Palmer, she pursued her passion to concentrate on the practice of functional and holistic medicine, earning certification as a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner. She worked as a functional medicine provider with Aligned Modern Health, and she is now excited to welcome patients to her own practice, Vibrant Life Center for Wellbeing!
In her personal life, Dr. Broughman enjoys being in nature, writing poetry, photography, traveling, cooking and the arts. She lives her best life in Daytona Beach with her husband, her aging-well mother, 2 dogs, and a kitty. She has a grown son who lives in D.C. and 3 “bonus” children with 4 grandchildren. She is exceedingly grateful for the many blessings in her life!
